How do I find the documents I need?


1. A Search option is available on the EQMS Navigator menu bar.



2. This will open a search window. This gives you a number of options, each one suited to a different type of enquiry:




Document Type

If you know the Type of Document you want then select this from the Document Control Types dropdown field. This filter will apply in addition to the other filter options.


If you know the Document ID, key it into Enter Search Phrase, with radio button ID selected.

If your system supplies its own Document IDs, you can find several document sharing the character sequence entered.


This is concerned with the text in the document itself. If radio button 'Content' is selected, it requires a further radio button choice of 'Free Text' or 'Advanced'. In each case you enter relevant words or phrases in 'Enter Search Phrase'. 'Free Text' looks for documents containing the text supplied. Advanced applies some more sophisticated rules as displayed by clicking on the hyperlinked label 'Index Option'.

Title / synopsis

This is concerned with the text in the title or synopsis supplied when the document was uploaded. Very useful if owners put relevant words or phrases in either. Use radio button 'Title / Synopsis' and field 'Enter Search Phrase'.


Once you have made your selection, click on the 'Go' button.



3. If you get the following window, then there are so many documents matching your search query, you are given the option to refine or change your search options. Click 'OK' to refine your search. Click 'Cancel' to continue and present the list of documents found.



4. Documents within the filter will be displayed in the Side Bar. Click any document to open it.
