How do I check in a document after editing?


When you have a document checked out for editing, no other user can edit the document at the same time. Once you are finished editing, make sure to check the document back in to EQMS for other users to access the new version.

  1. Select EQMS Document Manager from the Module Selector dropdown.

  2. From here click on Documents on the Menu Bar.

  3. Click Manage Documents in the side bar.

  4. To find the document you want to check out, you can use the search filters at the top of the page. To apply the filters, click on Go.

  5. To open the document information, click on the title of the document.

  6. You will then be presented with the Document Details page. Click on the Check-In icon.

  7. You will then be presented with this message. To continue with the process, click on OK. To abandon the action, click on Cancel.

  8. You will then be presented with this message. To upload a new document, click on OK. To continue without uploading a new document, click on Cancel.

  9. You must then give the new document a new version number and fill in the Change Log Reason text box.

  10. Click on the Upload icon.

  11. Click on the Choose file button.

  12. Find the document you want to upload and click on Open. Then click on the Click to Upload icon.

  13. The new document has now been checked-in.
